Michael McNamara

Michael McNamara writes from inside the room where the change is happening. A regional operations leader in hospitality, he has spent more than a decade hiring, coaching, and developing people through the exact generational shift this book describes. He has watched candidates begin to call the kitchen “peaceful” because the screens tell them what to do.

He holds a B.A. in Applied Ethics with graduate coursework in counseling psychology, and wrote for ESPN's TrueHoop network for over ten years. He publishes essays extending the book's arguments at his Substack, At a Cost.
